Charlie Sheen to get new TV show

Ex-'Two And A Half Men' star signs deal with Lionsgate

Charlie Sheen could be back on the small screen sooner rather than later.

According to reports, the former star of Two And A Half Men has signed a deal with Lionsgate Television to create a brand new TV show that will air on a cable network in the US. A number of networks are said to be already bidding for the show.

Sheen was fired from Two And A Half Men in March, following a series of bizarre and bitter rants, which included attacks on executive director Chuck Lorre.

“Charlie has inked a deal with Lionsgate Television to create and star in a new sitcom,” a source told Radaronline.com. “Charlie’s character will be very similar to the one he played on Two And A Half Men, however the show will be a lot racier.”

Lionsgate has agreed to produce 10 episodes, with an option for 90 more depending on the viewing figures. Sheen would potentially earn more than the $2million per-episode he received for Two And A Half Men as he would also be one of the show’s creators.
