Edmonds has presented nearly 3,000 episodes of the show, including one featuring Naughty Boy
The final episode of Deal Or No Deal will air in the autumn.
Channel 4 has decided not to recommission the long-running game show, which last aired in April of this year, but it will bow out with a run of special episodes shot at historic landmarks across the UK.
The show’s host Noel Edmonds told the Press Association: “It’s the beginning of an exciting new era for Deal. Traditionally Deal fans came from all over the UK (and the world) to visit the Dream Factory in Bristol. Now we are taking the show to the fans.”
“Jay Hunt (Channel 4’s chief creative officer) and I have been working on this for the last six months and now the logistics are virtually finalised we can start recording the shows in some extraordinary locations,” he added.
Based on a format created in the Netherlands, Deal Or No Deal launched on Channel 4 in 2005. Edmonds has now hosted nearly 3,000 episodes of the show, including one featuring producer Naughty Boy, who used a portion of his £44,000 winnings to build a recording studio.
Edmonds also told the Press Association that he is now developing four other quiz shows for the channel, adding: “Needless to say I’m hugely grateful to Jay Hunt and Channel 4 for this massive vote of confidence in my ability to create popular TV shows.”
