A short film made by Stranger Things creators The Duffer Brothers almost ten years ago has surfaced online.
An adaptation of PS Publishing’s story ‘Eater’, the tale featured in fantasy and horror magazine Cemetery Dance before being adapted for film by the brothers.
Described as “a rookie cop works the night shift at a police station with a cannibal prisoner on the loose,” the film was reportedly created during the brothers’ time at film school. In a blog post about the short film, PS Publishing said they had watched Stranger Things in two sessions, prompting them to check out the producers/writers/directors, describing The Duffer Brothers as “a truly talented dynamic duo”.

“Who’d have thought—while they were at film school they started out with an 18-minute adaptation of my story, ‘Eater’ which originally appeared in the rightly revered Cemetery Dance magazine (as well as being filmed on two other occasions),” the blog post continued.
“Anyway, I recommend it to you without reservation and for those interested in seeing where the Duffer Brothers started out.” Stranger Things is reportedly one of Netflix’s most popular original shows, according to new data.
SymphonyAM revealed to Business Insider that in the first 16 days, 8.2 million people watched Stranger Things, making it more watched than House of Cards, Narcos, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Making A Murderer.
