Former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland to appear in ‘Empire’ Season Two

Alicia Keys, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Marisa Tomei will also be making guest appearances

Kelly Rowland has become the latest big name to land a guest role on Empire.

The former Destiny’s Child singer and X Factor judge will appear in a flashback as the mother of Terrence Howard’s character, Lucious Lyon, E! reports. She joins Alicia Keys, Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Marisa Tomei, who have all already signed up for guest roles in Season Two of the hit hip-hop drama. Courtney Love had a recurring role in Season One as Elle Dallas, a drug-addicted rock star on the comeback trail, while Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Rita Ora, Gladys Knight, Estelle and Patti LaBelle all made guest appearances during the season.

Season Two of Empire will feature 18 episodes – six more than Season One – with the first nine to air on Fox this autumn, and the second nine to follow in spring 2016 after a mid-season cliffhanger. In the UK, Season One aired earlier this year on E4.
