‘Game Of Thrones’ and ‘Star Wars’ actress to appear in second series of ‘Top Of The Lake’

Gwendoline Christie will star alongside Elisabeth Moss

Game Of Thrones and Star Wars actress Gwendoline Christie is set to appear in the second series of BBC show Top Of The Lake.

The drama, which was co-written by Jane Campion, will also feature former Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss.

Christie will take a leading role in the six-part series, which picks up four years after the end of the first run, when the body of an unidentified Asian girl is washed ashore on Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

The Guardian reports that Christie said: “Jane Campion has been a major creative influence throughout my life and I could not feel more privileged to be working on the next instalment of her unique and enthralling drama, alongside the brilliant Elisabeth Moss.”

Filming for the series is already underway, having begun last week. It is being produced by partners in America, New Zealand, Australia and France, and will air on BBC2 next year.

Christie plays Brienne Of Tarth in Game Of Thrones and stormtrooper leader Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
