Meanwhile, HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys has confirmed that the network is in talks with author George RR Martin over a potential Game Of Thrones spin-off series.

Rumours have long suggested that a prequel or spin-off series could be in the works but Martin recently described the reports as simply “speculation”.

Now Entertainment Weekly reports that Bloys has said: “I would say it’s still kind of preliminary ongoing talks. There are areas we are exploring, but I wouldn’t point to any one and say, ‘This is what we’re going to do.'”

Meanwhile, George RR Martin recently responded to Donald Trump’s US election win, writing: “Winter is coming. I told you so.”
