Will winter ever come?
Fans of ‘Game Of Thrones‘ may still be waiting quite some time for the new book, after author George RR Martin revealed that he plans to spend most of 2017 working on ‘Winds Of Winter’.
The forthcoming book will be the sixth and penultimate novel in the author’s epic fantasy series ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ – of which ‘A Game Of Thrones’ was the first and was adapted into the phenomenally successful TV show.
After the follow-up ‘Winds Of Winter’ original release date of March 2017 has already been delayed, now it looks like Martin plans to spend a great deal of the year ahead working on the novel.
Writing on his live journal about an upcoming appearance, Martin said: “This is my last scheduled event for 2016.My appearance schedule for 2017 is very limited, and will remain so until WINDS is completed. So if you want to meet me or get a book signed, this will be the last chance for a good few months.”
Meanwhile, HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys has confirmed that the network is in talks with author George RR Martin over a potential Game Of Thrones spin-off series.
Rumours have long suggested that a prequel or spin-off series could be in the works but Martin recently described the reports as simply “speculation”.
