‘Glee’ star Chord Overstreet to return to show

The 'Trouty Mouth' actor will be back later in the new season

Glee star Chord Overstreet is returning to the show, following a falling out with producers.

The actor, who portrayed Sam Evans, nicknamed ‘Trouty Mouth’ in the second season of the hit musical comedy, initially chose not to return for the third run after not being made a regular. He went on to pursue a career in music.

On his decision walk away, the actor had said:

They offered me the chance to come back for a few episodes, but there was nothing guaranteed so I decided to dive into the music thing.

How, it has emerged that he will return after all. A source told TVLine.com: “We missed Chord and Chord missed us. It’s a win-win.” He will now return to the show on a recurring basis from the eighth episode of the new run.

The future of the Sam character had been in doubt for some time. It had initially been planned to make him gay and a love interest for Kurt, played by Chris Colfer. That storyline eventually went to Blaine, played by Darren Criss, who has since become a series regular.

Glee is currently airing new episodes in the UK on Sky1. The most recent episode saw fan favourite Brittany, played by Heather Morris, declare her intention to stand in a student election by performing Beyonce‘s ‘Run The World (Girls)’.
