‘Home and Away’ star Jessica Falkholt dies following car crash

She played Hope Morrison in the Australian soap

Home and Away star Jessica Falkholt has passed away, reports confirm. She was 29.

Falkholt – who played Hope Morrison in the Australian soap – was involved in a car crash on Boxing Day (December 26) in New South Wales. The crash had already killed Falkholt’s parents, sister and the other driver involved.

After being in a critical condition, her life support was switched off last week and St George Hospital in Sydney has now confirmed that Falkholt passed away on Wednesday morning (January 17). She died from the injuries that she suffered in the crash.

“On behalf of the family of Jessica Falkholt, St George hospital has been asked to advise the media and the community of Jessica’s passing today at 10.20am,” a statement reads. “The family has asked for privacy during this very difficult time.”

Falkholt’s parents Lars, 69, and Vivian, 60, were killed instantly in the crash, while her sister Annabelle, 21, passed away in hospital three days later.

Police are investigating the crash.

Falkholt appeared in 16 episodes of the show in total, the last coming in November 2016.

The show’s broadcaster Channel Seven has said “the entire Home and Away family is heartbroken”. “Jessica’s shining talent was recognised and respected by all her cast-mates and crew and her beautiful friendship treasured,” their statement adds.
