Adam Scott replaces John Cusack in the comedy sequel
A red band trailer for Hot Tub Time Machine 2 has been released. Take a first look at the sequel to the 2010 hit with Adam Scott (TV’s Parks and Recreation) filling the spot left vacant by John Cusack who turned down the opportunity to return.
Scott joins Clark Duke (Kick Ass 2), Craig Robinson (This is the End) and Rob Corddry (TV’s Community) after the first films’s climax saw the original trio find success in pop music and the business world.
When Corddry’s character Lou suffers an assassination attempt his two buddies rush him to the tub in a bid to go back in time and reverse events. But, warns Chevy Chase, “The hot tub doesn’t take you where you want to go, it takes you where you need to go!”
Pushing the time travel conceit to the limit Steve Pink’s film looks to be laden with gags – “You think everything is like Terminator!” – as the guys meet Scott ten years into the future and try and find their way back to the charmed lives the hot tub has given them.
Hot Tub Time Machine 2 will be in cinemas this christmas.
