Netflix users were left panicking last night after the streaming site was hit by unexpected issues across the globe.
The site experienced an unexpected global outage, meaning that viewers tuning in to watch their favourite shows were instead welcomed by an unwelcome error message.
“Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later”, stated the message when viewers went to use the service.
We are aware of members having trouble streaming on all devices. We are investigating the issue and appreciate your patience.

After a slew of online complaints, Netflix acknowledged the problem and confirmed that it was “investigating the issue”.
“We are aware of members having trouble streaming on all devices. We are investigating the issue and appreciate your patience”, Netflix responded on Twitter.
And as Netflix went off to investigate, the memes began to flood in.

Thankfully it seems that the problem didn’t last too long – with Netflix confirming that normal service had resumed just an hour later.
“The streaming issues we reported earlier have now been resolved. Thank you for your patience, and as always, happy streaming!”, Netflix later confirmed.
