Ansari co-created the semi-autobiographical series, which is currently untitled
Netflix has ordered a 10-part comedy series starring Parks And Recreation‘s Aziz Ansari.
Ansari co-created the currently untitled series with Alan Yang, an executive producer on Parks And Recreation, which came to an end in February after a seven-season run on US network NBC. Ansari and Yang will serve as executive producers on the series alongside another Parks And Recreation alumnus, the show’s co-creator Michael Schur.
According to Deadline, the series is semi-autobiographical and will feature storylines based around relationships and dating. Ansari’s co-stars include Jon Benjamin (Bob’s Burgers), Lena Waithe (The Comeback) and Kelvin Yu (Saturday Night Live). Shooting has already started in New York.
Ansari, who played dapper entrepreneur Tom Haverford on Parks And Recreation during all seven seasons, has previously teamed up with Netflix for a pair of stand-up specials, Buried Alive and Live At Madison Square Garden, both of which are available exclusively on the streaming service.
