‘Parks And Recreation”s Ron Swanson to face doppelganger during new season

He'll appear in the same episode that Leslie Knope meets her 'richer and better dressed' rival

Parks And Recreation‘s Ron Swanson is to face his doppelganger during the show’s new season.

The moustachioed meat lover, played by Nick Offerman, will meet his counterpart during an early episode in season six, TVLine reports. His double will be played by Sam Elliott, a ‘tache-sporting actor familiar from The Big Lebowski, Up In The Air and Thank You For Smoking.

Swanson’s doppelganger will hail from Eagleton, the rival town of Parks And Recreation‘s fictional home of Pawnee, Indiana. He’ll appear in the same episode that Amy Poehler‘s Pawnee city councilwoman Leslie Knope meets her “richer and better dressed” Eagleton counterpart Ingrid, played by Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell.

Parks And Recreation is due to return for its sixth season on US network NBC on September 26. The season premiere will be an hour-long special set in London featuring guest appearances from Heidi Klum and Happy Days legend Henry Winkler. The episode featuring Ron Swanson’s doppelganger and Leslie Knope’s Eagleton rival will follow at in October.
