Seth MacFarlane says he will make a ‘Family Guy’ movie ‘soon’

Creator confirms he still wants to bring the Griffin family to the big screen

Seth MacFarlane has reassured fans that he still intends to make a Family Guy movie.

Asked by a fan on Twitter, “When are you going to stop fannying around and actually do a Family Guy movie? ??”, the show’s creator and executive producer replied: “Soon. Soon.”

MacFarlane first discussed making a Family Guy movie in 2007, later explaining that it would take the form of “an old-style musical with dialogue” similar to The Sound Of Music. He confirmed plans to bring the Griffin family to the big screen in 2012, but the project was subsequently put on hold while he worked on Ted 2.

On TV, Family Guy celebrated its 250th episode earlier this year with a guest appearance from Liam Neeson. In the UK, Family Guy will soon move from its existing home on BBC Three to ITV’s new streaming service, ITV Hub.
