Donald Trump depicted as bribing predator in new clip from ‘The Simpsons’

"I do the best bribes! Everyone says so!"

A new clip from The Simpsons has portrayed Donald Trump in a scathing light – depicting him as a sexual predator who is readily willing to pay bribes to avoid investigation into his links with Russia.

The parody is taken from season 29 of the iconic show and sends up the rocky relationship between Trump and special counsel Robert Mueller, the man in charge of the investigation into collusion with Russia in the 2016 US Election.

In the clip, Trump’s attorney general Jeff Sessions is seen escorting Mueller through a back entrance of the ‘Trump Hotel’, with the apt message ‘Russians Welcome’ printed on the door.

From therein, he’s tasked with meeting Trump himself – who wastes no time in attempting to get Mueller on his side.

““I do the best bribes, everyone says so,” Trump remarks before brazenly offering Mueller the chance to judge his Miss Universe pageant.

The clip also goes unexpectedly close to the knuckle as it appears to reference the slew of sexual assault allegations that he has been forced to deny.

“If you wanna see the [Miss Universe] girls, just go in the door that says don’t go in”, Trump tells Mueller.

As the clip draws to an end, there’s also a clever nod to the efforts to clean up Puerto Rico – after Trump was widely criticised for his response to the US territory being hit by Hurricane Maria earlier this year.

It’s the third time this year that The Simpsons have portrayed the US President in a less than positive light – with the show previously offering a damning depiction of his first 100 days in office, along with

a clip that showed his confusion at being visited by the ghost of Richard Nixon.

A 2000 episode of the show also famously predicted Donald Trump’s Presidency, with Lisa Simpson becoming his immediate successor in the role.
