Is there going to be a ‘The End Of The F***ing World’ season 2?

Actor Alex Lawther speaks about possibility

The star of hit Channel 4 and Netflix dark comedy The End of the F***ing World has spoken about the possibility of a second season of the show.

The eight-part series premiered on Channel 4 in the UK back in October but recently made its way to Netflix internationally last week (January 5).

Alex Lawther – who plays James in the show – recently spoke to JÓN magazine about the show possibly continuing beyond its source material.

“Well, we don’t know,” he said. “It was based on a comic book series by Charles Forsman and the comics end where our episodes end.”

“It would give [writer Charlie Covell] a chance to explore something from her imagination,” he added. “I would be very excited about [that] because I think she’s brilliant. So we’ll see, basically.”

The coming-of-age drama features loner James and fellow friendless schoolmate Alyssa (The Lobster actress Jessica Barden) who embark on an eventful road trip as they skip town to find Alyssa’s estranged father.

It also stars Gemma Whelan, Wunmi Mosaku, Steve Oram, Christine Bottomley, Navin Chowdhry and Barry Ward. Matt King – aka Super Hans from Peep Show – also makes a guest appearance.

Blur guitarist Graham Coxon composed the full original score, his first full-length TV score.

The show currently has a very rare 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
