‘Thunderbirds’ reboot: First picture of new-look CGI characters

Reboot 'Thunderbirds Are Go!' will debut on ITV later this year (2015)

ITV has released the first promo picture for its Thunderbirds reboot – see above.

Titled Thunderbirds Are Go!, the reboot will feature a mixture of computer-generated animation and live action model sets. The first series of 26 episodes will air later this year and ITV has already commissioned a second series of 26 episodes.

As previously reported, the reboot is aiming to “deliver a whole new level of action-adventure animation for today’s audience, whilst also affectionately paying tribute to the legacy of model locations from the classic series”. Created by the late Gerry Anderson and wife Sylvia, Thunderbirds originally ran for 32 episodes in the mid-’60s and spawned a pair of successful feature films.
