HBO series True Blood is set to be made into a Broadway musical.
A theatrical version of the vampire show is already under development, according to reports.
Rolling Stone reports that the adaptation is being developed by Tony Award-winning director Pam McKinnon. Author Elizabeth Scott will write the script and lyrics, and Nathan Barr, who scored the TV show, will compose the music.
Barr announced two years ago that he had plans to adapt the show into a musical. He said at the time he wanted it to “return to the roots of the show”.
The musical will be set in the fictional town of Bon Temps, Louisiana and see vampires and other supernatural beings live alongside humans.
True Blood ran for seven series and ended in 2014.
