‘Veronica Mars’ star Kristen Bell to guest on ‘Parks And Recreation’

She'll play a rival to Amy Poehler's character Leslie Knope

Kristen Bell is to appear in an episode of Parks And Recreation.

Bell will shoot her guest role after she finishes filming the Veronica Mars movie, Entertainment Weekly reports.

She’ll play Ingrid, a city councilwoman from Eagleton who becomes a rival to Amy Poehler‘s Pawnee city councilwoman Leslie Knope after the pair meet at the annual Pawnee-Eagleton high school basketball game. “She’s Leslie’s equivalent, but richer and better dressed,” the show’s executive producer Michael Schur teased.

Parks And Recreation will return for its sixth season on US network NBC on September 26. The season premiere will be an hour-long special featuring scenes set in London, and Bell’s episode is expected to air in October.

Meanwhile, Bell began shooting the Veronica Mars movie last month (June) after the show’s creator Rob Thomas launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project and raised over $5.7 million (£3.8 million) – almost triple the $2 million (£1.3 million) target. Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowell and Francis Capra have also reprised their roles from the cult teen series, which originally aired between 2004 and 2007, while James Franco and Justin Long have signed up for cameos.
