Alec Baldwin is to play Donald Trump in an upcoming Saturday Night Live sketch.

The Emmy-winning 30 Rock actor will play the Republican Presidential nominee opposite Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton on the show’s season 42 premiere.

Baldwin has become a Saturday Night Live semi-regular over the years, guesting in over 20 episodes of the iconic US show beginning in 1990.

Suicide Squad star Margot Robbie and The Weeknd have also been booked for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.

The Harley Quinn actress will host the opening episode of the show’s 42nd season, while The Weeknd will be the show’s musical guest. It airs on NBC this Saturday (October 1). This will mark The Weeknd’s third appearance on the show following previous stints as the musical guest in 2014 and 2015. He will be singing songs from his upcoming album ‘Starboy’, which is due on November 25.

Meanwhile, Zach Galifianakis has explained why Donald Trump won’t be following Presidential rival Hillary Clinton in joining him for an interview on his spoof chat show Between Two Ferns.
