Watch Bill Murray parody Steve Bannon on ‘SNL’

They also commented on the possibility of Oprah running for President in 2020

Saturday Night Live returned last night, with Bill Murray appearing on the show to parody former Trump adviser Steve Bannon.

The show centred around the chaotic state of US politics in the wake of Michael Wolff’s recently-released ‘tell all’ book on the Trump presidency, Fire and Fury, and the subsequent calls for Oprah to run for President in 2020, after a stirring Golden Globes speech.

Murray played Steve Bannon in an extended sketch centred around Fire and Fury, while Leslie Jones appears towards the sketch’s end as Oprah – watch it back below.

Following Oprah’s Golden Globes speech, the emotional address was met with huge applause at the Beverly Hilton ceremony, and even prompted widespread calls for Winfrey to consider running against Donald Trump in 2020.

America’s National Organisation for Women wrote on Twitter: “”For too long, women have not been heard or believed if they dared to speak their truth to power men hold. But their time is up!” Oprah is the hero we need.  #Oprah2020.”

TV anchor David Shuster said: ““A new day is on the horizon…”. @Oprah speech at  was a tour de force. It underscores why so many political pros believe Oprah, if she ran, would easily become America’s first woman President. And it wouldn’t matter who the opponent is… #Oprah2020.”
