New series is out in summer 2017
Game Of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has confirmed a number of characters will be killed off in Game of Thrones season 7.
The next series will be the penultimate instalment of the show and will debut on HBO in summer 2017. The eighth and final season is expected to follow in 2018.
But Turner said not everyone will make it to Season Eight.
“It’s quite sad. It really feels like things are wrapping up and coming to an end,” she told Variety in a clip you can watch below. “People are hanging around Belfast a bit longer to be around each other and be in each other’s presence.
“We’ve got one more season…well, not all of us.”
(Spoiler alert) Turner’s character found herself finally reunited with her bastard brother Jon Snow near the end of Season Six and together they defeated Ramsay Bolton and reclaimed Winterfell, the home of the Starks.
The actress also said there is uncertainty surrounding her character in Season Seven.
“You don’t really know what’s going on with her this season,” she said. “We’re trying to figure out where her loyalties lie and you’re wondering if she is going to pull through and be a true Stark or not.”
Meanwhile, creator George R.R. Martin recently dismissed rumours that he is making a prequel to the series.
He added: “Well I do have thousands of pages of fake history that have led up to Game Of Thrones. At the moment, we still have a show to finish and I still have two books to finish. So for now, that’s all speculation.” .
