The First Lady and Rory discuss books in a new teaser
Michelle Obama makes a cameo in a new preview clip of the revived Gilmore Girls series.
The hit US show ended in 2007 with Rory Gilmore preparing to follow then presidential hopeful Barack Obama on the campaign trail as a political reporter.
Nine years later, Obama is nearing the end of his second term as president and Rory is meeting up with Michelle Obama.
The First Lady makes an appearance in a two-minute teaser released by Netflix on Friday (June 24).
In the clip, Rory stops by the White House to bring the FLOTUS some reading material ahead of a trip to Liberia, Morocco and Spain.
“I wasn’t sure about what mood you’d be in, so I brought all of Shakespeare ‘cause you can’t go wrong with the Bard,” Rory says.
Obama makes the appearance to plug her husband’s ‘Let Girls Learn Initiative’ which aims to remove obstacles in the way of girls around the world to getting an education. She previewed the meet-up on Snapchat, having joined the social network earlier this week.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premieres on Netflix this autumn, an exact date has yet to be announced.
