Watch Sean Astin reprise role of Bob from ‘Stranger Things’

He teams up with Mews the cat to "face fears"

Sean Astin has returned as Bob from Stranger Things in a new Netflix ad.

Goonies actor Astin portrayed Bob Newby in the second season of the hit show, with his character’s demise coming in the same season.

This new short clip sees Astin’s Bob re-watching his death scene with the Henderson family cat Mews, who is eaten by Dustin’s’s pet pollywog Dart during the same season.

“It’s time to face your fears. Confronting your past is the first step to healing,” Bob tells Mews in the clip. “Don’t worry buddy, I’ll be with you the whole way.”

“You did it. You face your demons, well… demogorgons,” he adds. “You’re right. If you can do it, so can I. It’s gonna be ok.”

Recently, the creators of Stranger Things were hit with a lawsuit for allegedly stealing the show’s concept.

Filmmaker Charlie Kessler produced a short film in 2012 called Montauk and alleges that he and his agents pitched the idea of turning it into a full series to the Duffer Brothers in April 2014.

Kessler is seeking monetary compensation and “destruction of all materials that were allegedly ripped off from his concept”.

The Duffer Brothers’ attorney issued a statement in response, saying: “Mr Kessler’s claim is completely meritless. He had no connection to the creation or development of Stranger Things. The Duffer Brothers have neither seen Mr Kessler’s short film nor discussed any project with him. This is just an attempt to profit from other people’s creativity and hard work.”
