BBC unveils glimpse of follow-up to 'Extras' and 'The Office'
The BBC has released the first teaser for Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant‘s new comedy show.
Life’s Too Short will be a fake documentary telling the story of Warwick Davis and his talent agency, Dwarves for Hire. In the show Warwick uses the agency to steal all the best work for himself.
Davis will play an alternate version of himself, who is “desperate, conniving, fame-hungry and self-centred, but always gets his comeuppance.”
The actor, who stands at 3ft 6in, has had parts in two of the biggest film franchises of all time; Star Wars and Harry Potter.
Earlier in the year Gervais described the show as: “The third in our trilogy of TV sitcoms, Life’s Too Short is another naturalist observational comedy, dealing with everyday problems, human foibles and social faux pas… but with a dwarf.”
The show is said to be a mixture of The Office and Extras.
Warwick first teamed up with Gervais and Merchant for an episode of Extras in which the Star Wars actor was knocked unconscious during a fight with Andy, played by Gervais.
Life’s Too Short will air on BBC2 later in the year.
