Two Door Cinema Club gig 'booked out by Barack Obama'
Alex Trimble's trio add a second show in Washington DC after the President books out their first gig
The band, fronted by Alex Trimble, are due to play Washington DC on October 2 as part of their upcoming North American tour. According to The Sun, they have now been forced to add a second show in the city to meet demand from fans who don't work in the White House.
A source is said to have told the tabloid: "Alex was delighted to hear their US gig had been practically booked out by Barack and his team. He thinks it's mad the President of the United States has their tunes on his iPod. You can't get a much bigger fan than that."
Two Door Cinema Club will release their second LP, 'Beacon', on September 3. The album began streaming online yesterday (August 24) - click here to hear it. The video for the lead single, 'Sleep Alone', is available to watch below.
The Northern Irish trio played Leeds Festival yesterday (August 24) and will take to the stage at Reading tomorrow (August 26). Earlier this week, the band announced details of their biggest UK tour to date. They will play 10 shows in January and February of next year, with the trek beginning at the O2 Academy in Newcastle on January 24 and running until February 8, when the band headline London's O2 Academy Brixton.
Tickets for the January and February shows go on sale next Thursday (August 30) at 9am (BST). To check the availability of Two Door Cinema Club tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
