U2 have dominated this year’s Grammy Awards.

The Irish legends won every award in which they were nominated at the ceremony in LA, while the likes of Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand won nothing.

U2 picked up the awards for Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album for ’How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’, while ’City Of Blinding Lights' picked up the Grammy for Best Rock Song.

Their track ’Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own’ was rewarded twice - in the Song Of The Year and Best Vocal Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group categories.

“I don't know what to say,” Bono said. “This is really a big, big night for our band.”

U2 have now won 20 Grammys but this was the first time they have won Album of the Year since 1988 with 'The Joshua Tree'.

Other winners on the night included Chemical Brothers, who bagged two awards including Best Electronic/ Dance Album for ’Push The Button', White Stripes, who were awarded Best Alternative Album for ’Get Behind Me Satan' and Kanye West, who picked up three awards.
