U2 singer's tome is based on White House speech

U2’s Bono is set to release a new book.

’On The Move’ will be published in the US on April 3.

The tome is derived from the star’s speech he made at the White House in 2005. In it he calls on Americans to take action against extreme poverty and AIDS in Africa.

The book will also feature photographs by Bono taken from his first trip to Ethiopia in 1985.

All royalties from the project will go the ONE campaign to Make Poverty History.

Bono was approached by publisher David Moberg about turning his speech into a book.

Moberg said: “I was very motivated after hearing Bono speak and asked myself how we could help. We were honoured to publish this book and assist in whatever way we can with Bono’s efforts on behalf of the ONE campaign.”

More details on the charity are available at One.org.
