Bono receives civil rights award

U2’s Bono has won the Chairman’s Award at the 38th National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People Image Awards in Los Angeles.

NAACP is America’s oldest and richest civil rights organization.

The Chairman’s Award is bestowed in recognistion of special achievement and distinguished public service, and was given to Bono on March 3 in recognition of his humanitarian effort.

Meanwhile Prince picked up the organisation's Best Male Music Artist award.
