U2's The Edge donates guitar to charity

Several music-related items to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims
U2's The Edge is donating his favourite guitar to charity.
The legendary guitarist is giving the instrument - a 1975 Gibson Les Paul - to Music Rising, a charity he co-founded to replace musical equipment lost or destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
The guitar is expected to bring in between $60,00 to $80,000, according to the charity's website.
"I wanted that Steve Jones 'Never Mind The Bollocks' sound, so I got the same guitar right down to the colour," said The Edge.
"I never could get that sound, but I found a bunch of songs in this instrument, and have used it extensively ever since, on tour and in the studio," he added.
Several other items from music legends are being auctioned off, including a guitar owned by Jimi Hendrix, sunglasses worn by John Lennon and Bono, an Elvis Presley original recording contract, Kurt Cobain's MTV award, and Bruce Springsteen handwritten lyrics.
A saxophone signed by former US President Bill Clinton will also be on auction.
Many of these items will displayed at upcoming auction previews in Los Angeles, New York, London and Dublin.
