U2’s The Edge is to get an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music in Boston next month.
Eighties star Gloria Estefan is also to be honoured, as is Estefan’s husband Emilio Estefan and jazz pianist Andrew Hill.
Berklee spokesman Allen Bush said the musicians were chosen for honorary doctorates based on achievements in music and contributions to American and international culture.
Past recipients of honorary doctorates from Berklee include David Bowie and Aretha Franklin, reports Yahoo.
