Ali Campbell leaves group to concentrate on solo career
UB40 have confirmed lead singer Ali Campbell is leaving the group after almost 30 years and 70 million record sales.
Campbell, who sang on chart-toppers including ‘Red, Red Wine’, is said to be leaving to concentrate on solo projects.
The band have not announced who will replace him but Campbell will play his last gigs with next month in Australia, New Zealand and Uganda.
The group’s next album, ‘24/7’, will still be released as planned and the remaining seven members will continue to record and perform together.
