The most retweeted posts in the UK have been revealed for 2017 – and it’s topped by one man and his heroic quest for free chicken nuggets.

Carter Wilkinson has topped the list for 2017 after receiving over three million retweets in his quest to receive a year-long supply of chicken nuggets from fast food chain Wendy’s.

“Help me please. A man needs his nuggs”, he captioned the post – which has also become the most retweeted of all time.

The second most retweeted post came from Ariana Grande as she responded to the bomb attack at Manchester Arena which killed 22 people as they left her concert at the venue in May.

Meanwhile, Sunderland footballer Jermain Defoe was in third place after paying tribute to “best friend” Bradley Lowery after the terminally ill football mascot passed away in July.
