'No problem' they assert amidst cancellations of all festival dates including second-from-the-top appearance next week..

Ultrasound's spokesman has insisted that the last-minute cancellations of all the band's dates and festival appearances were not due to guitarist Richard Green quitting the band..

He claimed that the cancellations were because the band wanted to concentrate on writing their next album and that the band were still very much together.

The band decided to withdraw days before they were due to appear at T In The Park last Sunday (July 11). They have also scrapped appearances at the Guildford Festival on July 24, where they were second from top of the bill on the main stage, and the Reading and Leeds festivals, where they had two slots over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

They've also ditched plans to play Spain's Benicassim festival on August 7 plus Holland's Lowlands and Belgium's Pukkelpop festivals on August 27 & 28 respectively.

A spokesman for Ultrasound told NME: "I can categorically say Richard has not left, that's rubbish, completely untrue. They're just desperate to write and record the next album. They've been touring for about six months and now they just want to get on with it.

"It's unfortunate for the fans that they've had to cancel their festival performances, but it's what the band feel they have to do."

The band have already written two new tracks, which they debuted at their Glastonbury set - 'Goodbye 25' and 'Valencia'. Both will appear as B-sides on their next single, 'Aire And Calder', which will still be released in late August/early September through Nude.

The spokesman continued: "They just feel that the sooner they start writing the album the sooner they can get it out, 'cos it took them such a long time to record the last one."
