Mani tells NME.COM all about band's new tracks

Primal Scream bassist Mani has revealed that his band will debut new songs at their performance at the V Festival this weekend (August 18/19).

The bassist was speaking ahead of this weekend's bash, where they will headline the JJB/Puma Arena.

“We’ve got a couple of new ones up our sleeve for V,” the bassist told NME.COM. “We played them at the weekend in Scandanavia, but this’ll be the UK debut. We’re definitely going to play at least a couple of newiess, and maybe even work a few more in to the set.”

When asked the names of the new songs, Mani said, “They’re that fresh that I haven’t got a fucking clue! To be honest we all stare at each other while we’re playing them – we haven’t learned them that well yet. It’s a suck it and see situation!”

He went on to reveal Primal Scream’s new album plans, telling NME.COM that his band would begin recording a new album “after the next few weekends”.

Mani also explained how he was expecting a riotous V Festival.

“We’ll be up for a damn good bit of partying,” he said. “The Happy Mondays are playing, so I’ll probably end up on my hands and knees with Bez by the end of the weekend!”

NME.COM will be bringing you exclusive coverage from both festival sites over the weekend. Come back all this week as we build up to the festival and reveal what you can expect this weekend.
