Bright Eyes pulls out of V Festival line-up

Illness blamed for cancelling weekend appearence

Bright Eyes has pulled out of his scheduled V Festival appearance this weekend (August 18 and 19) due to illness.

The singer-songwriter – real name Conor Oberst – had been due to headline the Virgin Mobile Union stage at the Chelmsford leg of the V Festival on Saturday (August 18), and the Stafford leg on Sunday (August 19).

Bright Eyes will be replaced by Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, who will now headline the VMU stage on both legs of the festival.

The band's shows in Bristol (August 15), Liverpool (16) and Nottingham (17) are also cancelled.
