The Goo Goo Dolls toast British weather at V Festival
Big crowd turn up at the V Stage for the band's Chelmsford set
The Goo Goo Dolls played an early afternoon set at the V Festival in drizzly Chelmsford today (August 19), finding time to toast the British weather.
Sporting baggy cargo pants and a brown jacket, singer John Rzeznik led his band through fan favourites such as 'Slide' and 'Broadway' as the drizzle floated down on the packed V Stage crowd.
Before playing 'January', which he sung vocals on, bassist Robby Takac noted the rainand said, “This looks like perfect British dancing weather to me – so let's do a little dancing.”
However, by the time the band played epic closer 'Iris', the rain had lifted and the crowd sang along before cheering loudly at the end.
The Goo Goo Dolls played:
'Stay With You'
'Slide'
'Feel The Silence'
Black Balloon'
'January'
'Naked'
'Let Love In'
'Broadway'
'Iris'
