Vampire Weekend are supporting Record Store Day with the release of a 7” single on April 19.
The vinyl release will feature ‘A-Punk’[/b’ taken from their recently released self-titled debut album, and the B-side will be a rehearsal version of [b] ‘Oxford Comma’.
With digital downloading contributing to the demise of the physical record store, many artists have offered their support to Record Store Day including Paul McCartney, Metallica and Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips who says “the 'cool' record store. It is where you can talk to people who are like you. They look like you, think like you and, most tellingly like the same music as you - the only comparable experience these days would probably be an art museum - an actual place where you can stand and simply be surrounded by your heroes."
Record Store Day takes place April 19.
