Vampire Weekend look set to play the Friday night (June 25) at Glastonbury this summer, festival organiser Emily Eavis has revealed.

Writing on her Twitter page,, Eavis wrote "YES, FRIDAY 25th?" when asked about the band. She later wrote, "…They have already been booked I promise!"

Glastonbury takes place on June 25-27 this year, with U2 confirmed to headline the Friday night on the Pyramid Stage.

Vampire Weekend played a gig above the ice rink at London's Somerset House yesterday (January 14), as well as a show at Kingston's Hippodrome venue.
