Vampire Weekend recruit famous friends for 'Diane Young' video - watch

Sky Ferreira, Santigold, Dirty Projectors and The Walkmen all appear in new promo

Vampire Weekend have revealed the star-studded video for their new single 'Diane Young'.

The video for the song, which is lifted from the band's latest album 'Modern Vampires of the City', features a number of famous friends including Sky Ferreira, Santigold and Dave Longstreth of Dirty Projectors. Other cameos come from P-Thugg and Dave1 of Chromeo, Primo Kahn and Hamilton Leithauser of The Walkmen. See above to watch the video now.

Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig recently admitted that American politics "mostly just stresses me out".

The New York band were noted early supporters of current US President Barack Obama and publicly stated their intention to back him when he campaigned for election in 2008. However, speaking earlier this year, Koenig said: "George Bush was President when our first album came out. Isn't that just crazy to think? I find American politics mostly just stresses me out. But this record - more than any of the others - hopefully reflects our feelings about the country and the city that we live in."

Vampire Weekend recently played at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend alongside Biffy Clyro, The Vaccines and Calvin Harris. The annual bash took place this year in Derry, Northern Ireland on the weekend of May 24-26.
