Vampire Weekend marked the halfway point in this year's iTunes Festival with their performance at Camden's Roundhouse last night (September 15).

The New York band brought their latest album 'Modern Vampires Of The City' to London, with frontman Ezra Koenig giving what he described as a "Camden debut" to songs such as 'Hannah Hunt' and 'Everlasting Arms'. Opening the set with single 'Diane Young', Vampire Weekend also played 'Obvious Bicycle', 'Step', 'Unbelievers' and 'Ya Hey' from the album, which was released earlier this year.

On stage chat was kept to a minimum with Koenig lamenting the fact the gig fell at the end of the week, saying: "Sunday is a difficult day for a number of reasons." Elsewhere, the lead singer dedicated 'Boston (Ladies Of Cambridge)' to the "Vampire Weekend heads" in the audience, describing it as "one of the very first songs we wrote."

The band dedicated a large portion of the set to their debut album, with 'Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa', 'A-Punk', 'Campus' and 'Oxford Comma' all featuring before 'One (Blake's Got a New Face)' appeared in the encore.

Acknowledging the fact the gig was being live streamed on iTunes, Koenig introduced closing song 'Walcott' by asking the audience, which included actors Robert Sheehan and Craig Roberts, to, "Show all the people in Kazakhstan what a good time you're having."

Vampire Weekend return to the UK in November for a headline arena tour, including a gig at London's O2 Arena.
