Eddie Van Halen goes to rehab

Guitarist goes in to 'work on himself'

Van Halen star Eddie Van Halen has gone into rehab.

The guitarist has battled alcoholism in the past and is seeking treatment.

As previously reported Van Halen have been strongly rumoured to be reuniting with original vocalist David Lee Roth for a North American tour. The guitarist's stint in rehab may delay this.

In a statement Halen said he is entering rehab in order to: “work on himself”.

He said: “At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. Some of issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better.”

The band are scheduled to be induced into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in New York on Monday (March 12).

In February Pollstar reported that the tour was postponed indefinitely.
