Download sales could exceed £600m a year by 2012
2007's been a record year for digital music sales
Download sales for music and video in 2007 have reached over £160m, more than ever before.
This is an increase of over 45.5 per cent from 2006’s total, while sales of physical releases have once again fallen.
CD and DVD sales are down 2.9 per cent to £4billion over this year.
According to BBC News, proceeds from download sales are expected to reach £600m a year by 2012.
The news comes following Radiohead's monumental decision to offer their new album, 'In Rainbows', for free this week (October 10) at a price the customer chooses.
