British Army signs record contract

Army regiment the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards have signed a record contract with Universal Music.

The unit’s pipers and drummers made a series of recordings in between deployments in Iraq, covering the likes of Wings’Mull Of Kintyre’ and ’Sailing’, most famous for its cover by Rod Stewart.

"The pipes are an integral part of our regiment, and we take huge pride in our music," Pipe Major Derek Potter told Reuters. "We're very excited to be able to share our music with the world."

Royalties from the record will go to military charities.
