World's first self-tuning guitar released

Gibson say goodbye to the tuning fork

World's first self-tuning guitar released

Guitar company Gibson will release the world’s first self-tuning guitar on December 7.

The Gibson Robot Les Paul will retail for around £1,400 from tomorrow (December 7).

The guitar allows different tuning presets to be stored in its memory, meaning players can push buttons to flick between presets without altering the string tuning by hand.

Gibson are building up the guitar as a “remarkable musical experience”, and will stock the guitar in 400 shops across the world.

The company released a statement saying they expected the model to sell out in many stores worldwide.
