Pete Wentz responds to Grammy Award diss in blog

'A 50 year-old white man shouldn't decide whether we are relevant or not'

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has angrily responded to being overlooked for a single 2008 Grammy Award on the band’s blog.

The singer, who on Thursday (December 6) fulfilled an obligation to play People Magazine’s Grammy nominations party, commented on the band’s lack of nods in a blog post entitled “got bitterness? vs. a revelation on true connection (and the award goes to).”

Wentz' post said:

“the first reaction is jealousy mixed with a slight sense of entitlement. we just want to be a part of your club. other than the fact that we play the events for you and the right parties all the time (which is a bit embarrassing either for you or us, not sure which, possibly both. its kind of like being invited to a birthday party and then not allowed to eat the cake.)- it shouldnt mean much.”

He then thanks his fans saying:

“we want our songs to be immortal and a statue doesnt do anything to help them live forever. a fifty year old white man shouldnt decide whether we are relevant or not- and he doesn't. we wanted to thank you for making us feel relevant- for sitting up all night to get into our shows and for buying our music. it means more in the wake of moments like this. we know who we are based on those who would walk through hell with us.”

What the hell has age or colour got to do with relevance? It's a shame, I like Fall Out Boy but at the ripe old age of FIFTEEN I am already growing out of them, that dosen't seem like lasting forever to me. Maybe you do make good music but be a little less arrogant and self asmuing please, it's only decent.
Come back when you've learnt to start a sentance with a capital letter.
