The Roots, Mickey Hart among acts to play
Eight free gigs are planned for Earth Day, which will take place April 20.
The shows, which will take place simultaneously in cities across the US will feature acts including , Ricky Skaggs, Los Lonely Boys, the Neville Brothers and Mickey Hart from the Grateful Dead it was announced today.
All the shows are free and will take place in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco and Washington in an effort to draw attention to global warming,
Headliners at the flagship Washington event will be while New York will see a performance from Ricky Skaggs in Central Park. Grateful Dead star Mickey Hart will be the star attraction at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
