Jordin Sparks misses Alicia Keys support slot

Jordin Sparks has been forced to temporarily pull out of her support slot opening for Alicia Keys, it was announced today.

The ‘American Idol’ 2007 winner was due to open for Keys on the jaunt, but problems with her voice caused the cancellation of the scheduled shows over the weekend, and additional cancellations through to the end of the month.

The tour is supporting Keys ‘As I Am’ album and kicked off Saturday in Hampton, VA.

Sparks also cancelled her slot at tomorrow’s Earth Day Network & Green Apple Festival in Washington DC.

A spokesperson for the singer said she is expected to return to the live circuit in May.

Sparks released her self-titled debut album in November 2007.
