Attic Lights and Broken Records join Hydro Connect Festival
New talent for 'Your Sound' stage announced
A host of new bands have been announced to play the Hydro Connect festival alongside the likes of Kasabian, Bloc Party and Franz Ferdinand.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Vic Galloway announced today (June 1) the 20 bands that will be playing on the Your Sound Bandstand at the August 29-31 event.
The acts, selected as part of King Tuts Wah Wah Hut’s unsigned band initiative, Your Sound, are all based in Scotland and stretch from the guitar-wielding wonderment of We Were Promised Jetpacks, to the European folk influenced Broken Records and the smoky melancholy of Lou Hickey.
Attic Lights, who have already appeared on the NME Stereo, will also feature.
All of the bands were selected during the course of the last eight months, and were featured on the monthly Your Sound nights at the Glasgow venue.
The initiative has been promoting unsigned talent since 2005, and has previously featured the likes of We Are The Physics and The Dykeenies. See Kingtuts.co.uk/yoursound/
