Lil' Wayne set to top one million first week sales in US
'Tha Carter III' is highest selling so far this year
Lil Wayne's brand new album 'Tha Carter III' is set to top one million in sales in the US in its first week of release, after selling 423,000 on its first day.
The record has projected sales of 950,000 but Universal Motown president Sylvia Rhone has said it will likely top sales of one million.
If the album does exceed this mark, it will be the first album to reach the milestone since 50 Cent's 'The Massacre' in 2005.
Kanye West almost reached one million in first week sales last year with 'Graduation' after going head to head with 50 Cent's 'Curtis'.
'Tha Carter III' was finally released on Tuesday (June 10) after the release date was moved three times from October to November and then to December 2007.
